Whiteleas was the scene of a recent callout, after the faulty hook on gearbox wasn't retracting properly, making it very difficult to open the door. all working corrwctly again. Faulty gearbox. After fitting the new gearbox, we checked the door to confirm it opened, closed and locked correctly.

Gearbox faults are one of the most common uPVC door problems we see — the mechanism inside the door edge wears out over time, often starting as stiffness or a handle that will not lift fully before the door stops locking altogether.
