Burglary Repairs in Washington
After a break-in or an attempt in Washington, the priority is a property you can lock again tonight. This page explains what is usually damaged on doors, windows and garages, and what is fitted so the same attack is harder next time.
If it cannot be left secure, call straight away rather than waiting until morning.
We cover the whole Washington area for this service, including Albany, Barmston, Concord, Fatfield, Harraton, Lambton, Oxclose, Sulgrave, Usworth and Washington Village.
Recent Work in the Washington Area
Genuine jobs we have completed in the Washington area, of any kind (not necessarily burglary repair work):
- Door Realignment in Washington: The composite door was rubbing along the threshold and hard to open and close; the frame was warped, so a perfect realignment was not possible, but the door was realigned into good working order.
- Window Mechanism Repair in Washington (Window Mechanisms): A faulty mechanism stopped the window opening. It was opened without damage, the mechanism was changed, and the window worked correctly again.

Doors, Windows and Garages After an Attempt
- Front and back doors: the cylinder is the usual target. It is replaced, and the handles and the mechanism along the edge are checked, because a forced door can be left out of line or with a damaged gearbox.
- Windows: a forced handle or locking point is replaced so the window locks again; broken glass is a new sealed unit in the existing frame.
- Garages: a forced garage lock or handle is replaced, with a stronger lock where it suits.
Making the Same Attack Harder
The replacement parts are chosen to resist what was tried: anti-snap or 3-star cylinders where a cylinder was attacked, high-security handles, and a repair plate where the door around the lock has been damaged, so the door can stay in place. You are told what is needed before anything is fitted.
Signs a Lock Has Been Tampered With
Not every attempt is obvious. These are worth a call even if the door still locks:
- Scratches, drill marks or a chipped area around the keyhole.
- A cylinder that now sits out from the handle, or turns slightly in the door when you use the key.
- A handle that has gone loose or no longer sits flat.
- A door that has suddenly become stiff to lock, when it was not before.
